In the August 15 1940 raid on the north east of England there is a specific report of a Heinkel HE111 being brought down into the sea by Hurricanes near Seaham. The aircraft remained on the surface for a few minutes then sank. No survivors were located by the Seaham lifeboat. Can anyone identify this aircraft and its crew? Thanks.

I would refer you to the book *Luftwaffe Losses Over Northumberland and Durham: 1939-1945* by Bill Norman. I do not own this book but have seen excerpts from it. If the information you seek is available, this well researched book should have it. The excerpt I saw listed 6 He-111’s shot down that day with only 1 listing the crew as "missing." That plane was only identified as "1H+?S" so the identification is uncertain but the description says the plane was shot down by fighters and crashed into the sea with 5 fatalities. That crew is listed as Uffz. Heinz Puschstein, Lt. Wolfgang Burck, Uffz. Hans-Karl Klug, Uffz. Hans Hoffman, and Uffz. Karl Lotz.

I am looking for help in determining the fate of a German He111 from KG55 that was shot down over England. I can provide the fuselage marking if someone has access to the data.
Thanks
