• USS Bluegill landed US and Australian personnel on Pratas of the Pratas Islands (Chinese: Dongsha Islands) in the South China Sea and destroyed the Japanese radio tower, weather station, fuel, ammunition dump, and several buildings. • USS Sterlet attacked a Japanese convoy east of the southern tip of Karafuto, Japan (now Sakhalin, Russia), sinking a freighter and damaging another, hitting them with four of six torpedoes.
