• Five days after the German government expressed regret for U-201 damaging neutral Argentinian motor tanker Victoria in Apr 1942, German submarine U-202 (Korvettenkapitän Hans-Heinz Linderand) sank Argentinian cargo ship Rio Tercero 120 miles southeast of New York, New York, United States at 1234 hours; 5 were killed, 37 survived. This led to demonstrations off the German Embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina. • German forces launched Operation Fridericus II near Kharkov, Ukraine in preparation for Unternehmen Blau. A He 111 bomber of 9.
