  • The city of Newark, New Jersey, United States reached a settlement with Lipsett Division of the firm Luria Brothers and Company, allowing the company to nine months to scrap battleship New Mexico in the city. Delays would cost the company US$1,000 per day. Battleship New Mexico was towed into Newark Bay within hours. ww2dbase [New Mexico | Newark, New Jersey | CPC]
