- Captain Teijiro Murase was made the Chief Eqiupping Officer of the oiler which would later be named Kamoi; Murase and a group of junior officers would soon depart Japan for the United States where the ship was currently under construction. ww2dbase [Kamoi | CPC]
- Vice Admiral Kesataro Kawahara succeeded Vice Admiral Naoe Nakano as the commanding officer of the Ryojun Military Port (previously known as Port Arthur; now Lushunkou, Liaoning Province, China), Kwantung Leased Territory in northeastern China. ww2dbase [Ryojun Guard District | Lushunkou, Liaoning | CPC]
