DEATH FROM ABOVE: GO GET'EM TIGERS

Marine F4U-1 Corsair's were accepted by the USMC August and September 1942. One of the most famous Marne units was VMF-214 commanded by Major Gregory "Pappy" Boyington
In the 1970s series Ba, Ba Black Sheep was just Hollywood. However, the real stars were the F4U
Corsair's and modified North American T-6 Texan
to take the place of the A6M Zero...

FORMATION FLYING: BY THE BOOK

Second F4U-1 Corsair in flight, is numbered F-27 could be from VF-12 on a training flight off San Diego, California, 1943. Early F4U camouflage was blue gray upper surface and a medium gray undersurface. If anybody has more info post it here, I'd like to read it.
