Several years ago I attended a history course on the Manhattan Project. During the last class meeting, I was surprised that several students blamed the flight crews for delivering the two A-bombs, mostly based on the petition signed by the scientists and the types of injuries these bombs created. Both of these students said the flight crews should have refused to deliver the bombs. I told these students they should blame their parents and grandparents for electing the Commander-In-Chief and his replacement, who made the decision to use the A-bombs . They asked “Who was that?” I said, “A failed business man of a Hat business from Independence, Indiana, Harry S Truman.” Both of these students ask, “Who is Harry S Truman?” I could NOT believe how stupid these people are!
Also, remember, Harry S Truman refused to use the A-bomb in the Korean Conflict (a non-declared war) of the early 1950s and fired the US Army five-star general who declared using 10 A-Bombs.
