CHINESE EQUIPMENT:
The Chinese Nationalist Army used the German M24
Stielhandgranate 24 (Stalk Hand Grenade) A Chinese
version was a copy called the type 23 and Type 28 and a locally made copy of the Japanese Type 67
stick grenade.
LET'S SEE WHAT OUR SHANG TENG PING PRIVATE FIRST CLASS PFC OR ERH TENG PING PRIVATE HAS BEEN ISSUED
The Zhongzheng Type 24 Rifle was a Chinese copy of the German Mauser in 7.92 x 57mm it was a bolt-action w/5 round internal magazine shoulder weapon. Between 500,000 to 600,000 were made.
He's been issued the German M35 steel helmet with Nationalist Sun Symbol on left side.
UNIFORMS MIX AND MATCH:
Some Chinese units were well equipped, while others made do with what was on hand, and made them locally. Uniform looks like the khaki cotton blouse with trousers, (not shown) the lower legs had putties wrapped around them along with canvas shoes, cotton bandoliers around his chest and waist that held the 7.92mm ammo for his Type 24 rifle. On his left hip looks like a canteen.
Did you know that copies of the German stick grenade were still manufactured in Communist China years after WWII. During the Vietnam War, the Chi-Com grenades were supplied to NVA/VC forces.
