"Our Gang" was shot down on the first raid to Schweinfurt, Germany 17 Aug 1943. All 10 crewmen survived and were taken prisoner.

See image http://ww2db.com/image.php?image_id=14840 for a wider view of this aircraft’s nose showing the name “Our Gang” on the nose. I don’t quite remember what I read about the “Lady Frances” painted near the pilot’s position but I seem to think it was a reference to the pilot’s mother.

The pilot is my father. Lady Frances refers to my mother's first name. My father served in the Air Force for over thirty years and retired in 1974.
