THE WAFFEN-SS FORMATIONS, WERE THE MILITARY ARM OF THE NAZI PARTY. SS THOSE TWO LETTERS
HAVE BECOME SEARED INTO THE 20TH CENTURY TO BE FILED UNDER TERROR, AND MURDER.

LOOKS LIKE THESE TROOPS HAVE BEEN ISSUED THE M42 TYPE II CAMOUFLAGE SMOCK WITH ITS HELMET COVER 1ST PATTERN.
THE WAFFEN-SS ISSUED DIFFERENT TYPES OF CAMO PATTERNS. THEY WERE PLANE TREE OAK LEAF, PALM TREE, W/BLURRED EDGE, LIGHT AND DARK GREENS AND BROWNS W/PURPLISH BROWN.

FOR AUTUMN LIGHT AND DARK SHADES OF RUSSET-BROWNS. FOR SPRING SHADES OF LIGHT AND DARK GREENS, SMOCKS WERE REVERSIBLE. BOTH THE SS AND THE WEHRMACHT WERE ISSUED CAMOUFLAGE UNIFORMS, BUT IT HAS BEEN THE SS WHO HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED WITH IT THE MOST.

BESIDES THE CAMOUFLAGE SMOCKS AND HELMET COVERS THE TROOPS ARE EQUIPPED W/MP4O, 9MM
SUBMACHINE GUNS, TRIPLE AMMO POUCHES, FIELD GLASSES AND ENTRENCHING TOOL (SHOVEL) THIS SIMPLE TOOL, COULD BE A DEADLY WEAPON IN HAND-TO-HAND COMBAT, GET HIT WITH IT ONE OR TWO TIMES, AND YOUR DONE. OFFICERS AND NCOs
WERE ALSO ISSUED A SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL.

WHAT ARE THOSE SS TROOPS LOOKING AT? LET'S LISTEN IN:
I'LL TELL YOU WERNER THAT SERGEANT-MAJOR OF THE WEHRMACHT IS TOUGH, LOOK HOW HE JUST STANDS THERE LIKE A STATUE, BUT HIS EYES ARE MOVING ALL THE TIME, JUST SCREW UP AND HE'LL CATCH YOU. BUT THAT SERGEANT-MAJOR NAMED OSKAR IS IN THE COLD, AND WERE IN THE SUN...

WAFFEN-SS ANOTHER WORD FOR FEAR AND TERROR:

Did you know by 1941 the Waffen-SS numbered about 150,000 men, by 1944 its strength was up to 560,000.
It was the military arm of the Nazi Party its members were taught National Socialism and its ideological teachings.

AN ARMY UNTO THEMSELVES:

After five and one-half years of war, the Waffen-SS had 38 divisions and a strength of 900,000 to 1,000,000 men
it received the pick of German military equipment.

I know that it is not directly inferred by the bundesarchiv caption, but telling by everything in the photograph, this photo is after March 1st 1944, the day Erbsenmuster camo was introduced (peadot)
It could be useful to tag this as 1944
