Kawanishi N1K1 Kyofu (MightyWind) service trials aircraft were delivered to the Imperial Japanese Navy starting in August 1942. Deliveries of production aircraft began in the spring of 1943. The last aircraft were delivered in March 1944. Total production 97 aircraft.

SEAPLANE FIGHTER

Aircraft assigned to Sasebo Kokutai. First Japanese marking on tail is for SA Sasebo w/last numbers 134.

DEFENDING THE EMPIRE:

N1K1's were even used to intercept USAAF B-29's making raids over the Empire
However, aircraft had little success against attacking the higher flying B-29's.
