Photo is important to my family. The memories attached to the US Navy and our father's part in WW2 are precious to us all. Blimp Squadron 32 based at Moffett Field NAS, California

Four months after this photo was taken, this airship became the center of a mystery that has never been solved. The airship drifted ashore from a patrol off the Golden Gate and crashed in a neighborhood south of San Francisco. There was no trace of the two crewmen and they have never been found.
