MADE IN AMERICA, TESTED IN JAPAN:

The Japanese captured a number of Curtiss P-40s
most were captured in shipping crates in Java.
Among other aircraft captured were the early model Boeing B-17s of which several were captured.
Aircraft were shipped to Japan evaluated and tested.
Photograph shows a line up of P-40s a Boeing B-17 a Brewster F2A Buffalo that could have been captured from the Netherlands East Indies Air Force or RAF, Douglas DB7 twin-engine bombers that were captured from the Netherlands East Indies Air Force, and a number of other aircraft.

IN ENEMY HANDS:

The Japanese tested and evaluated enemy aircraft
at the Imperial Army Air Technical Research Laboratory Tachikawa, Japan.

P-40'S OF THE RISING SUN:

Captured Curtiss P-40's were flown by the (IJAAF)
Imperial Japanese Army Air Force's 50th Sentai
in defense of Rangoon.
