EVE OF DESTRUCTION:
"LITTLE BOY" the uranium bomb detonated over Hiroshima. 15,000 tons of high explosive. Did you know both bomb casings were assembled at three different factories, to keep the design
secret.
Each bomb detonation called for different shapes. "LITTLE BOY" was long, while "FAT MAN' was round in shape...
Both bombs had tail fins to stabilize its fall toward the target.
FINISHING DETAILS:
Both bombs had production numbers, and other data stenciled on bomb casing.
Bomb was armed in flight and had special bomb release
designed. "LITTLE BOY" had UHF antennas so the bomb could be tracked after BOMB AWAY during its fall to the target.
