The tank is an M4A3R3 Sherman "Zippo" flame tank belonging to the Army's 713th Tank Battalion, Armored Flamethrower Provisional. The 713th was the only armored flamethrower unit in the entire U.S. Army and fought exclusively on Okinawa.
