TORPEDO...LOS!

Heinkel He 111H with two LT F5b practice torpedoes. The Germans also used Italian F5W, LT-280 and F5i practice torpedoes as well as live weapons.

BY THE BOOK:

Practice torpedoes had the warhead painted with red and white stripes, to note it was used for training.
Operational torpedoes were painted in a light or dark gray, w/brass propellers and fins while others were not painted, and had a steel body

ARE YOU READY FOR THIS:

FEDERAPPARATTORPEDO or
Spring Operated Torpedo...
say people I'm not making this stuff up.

During WWII the Germans had over thirty different types of torpedoes. In 1939 it took 3,730 man hours to produce such a weapon, as the war continued production was brought down to 1,707 man hours. The weapon was powered by 1 x 4-cylinder radial engine driving a six bladed propeller...

I thank the editor/ww2db for allowing me to share my knowledge of WWII...
