TORPEDO...LOS!
Heinkel He 111H with two LT F5b practice torpedoes.The Germans also used Italian F5W, LT-280 and F5i practice torpedoes as well as live weapons.
BY THE BOOK:
Practice torpedoes had the warhead painted with red and white stripes, to note it was used for training.
Operational torpedoes were painted in a light or dark gray, w/brass propellers and fins while others were not painted, and had a steel body

During WWII the Germans had over thirty different types of torpedoes. In 1939 it took 3,730 man hours to produce such a weapon, as the war continued production was brought down to 1,707 man hours. The weapon was powered by 1 x 4-cylinder radial engine driving a six bladed propeller...
