You can’t tell me this sailor wasn’t sometimes nicknamed “Popeye.” Note that McCain wears the right-facing eagle on his cap device (the so-called sinister eagle) despite this being officially reversed in mid-1941 (to the so-called dexter eagle). McCain wore the sinister eagle as much as he could get away with throughout his career.
