Also present were actors Alfred Lunt, Vivian Leigh, and Laurence Olivier, although Olivier cannot be seen in this photo. Vivian Leigh and Laurence Olivier were married at the time. The naming of the aircraft was linked to the opening of a Stage Door Canteen in London along the lines of the Stage Door Canteen in New York’s theater district.
