Good plan, but what happens if the Japanese put artillery on the mountainous region to the north and west? They will be able to see every movement that 8th Army makes.

I was there on about oct. 9 1945..There was a high hill on the Yokosuka Naval base, which we took over..There were caves underneith and heavy artillery on top..The artillery had been dsestroyed by the Allies. Beds and rations were still there..Lots of caves with cute little paths from the beach going to them..Nice landscaping..The problem was if you walked up the path, you weren't met with force, they were designed so the *** could shoot you in the back once you past them.It took a couple of months before we felt comfortable.We kicked them off the base but it seemed like no time until the Japanese were driving my Jeep and I was walking..
