Looks like those Japanese pilots, are giving all they have, for the Emperor. Working in
their flight gear, it must be cold.
Aircraft in background, are Nakajima A6M2-N
Code Name "Rufe", a total of 327 floatplane
fighters were produced.
My guess it looks like the photo was taken in
the Aleutians, but then again I've been wrong
before.

three pilots are shoveling the muck, one is
watching, and the other looks like he's a
think'in about the Green,green grass of home,
or "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place" If its

GIMME SHELTER: A HARD DAYS NIGHT

Looks like the pilots second-line jobs are ditch diggers too. shoveling the muck, and giving all they got for the Emperor. Just working in that weather was brutal on both man and machine. Keeping warm the best they can, working in their flight suites.
Aircraft in the background are Nakajima A6M2-N's (Rufe) they could belong to the Toko Naval Group, or the 452nd Naval Group on Kiska Is.
