French Airforce in Vietnam 1945-50s. The transport units used a circle on the tail with a letter to identify the squadron. When the French left the SVAF carried on with the tradition changing the disk colour to orange

From the French markings it is suspected that this is an aircraft of GT 2/62 Francho-Conte AAC operating from Bach Mai airbase, Hanoi in 1950
