Messerschmitt Me 210A-1 (VN+AT) on test flight with elongated fuselage revealed the aircraft to be an adequate warplane, and the few that were built were modified and cleared for service.

Messerschmitt Me 210A-1 (VN+AT) aircraft was modified with new rear fuselage, wing slots and new air brakes in the Summer of 1942. This was one of the last Me 210A-1's completed prior to the production halt on April 1942.
