The Messerschmitt Me 410 carried one 50mm
BK 5 cannon, this weapon was based on the
PAK 38 anti-tank gun, used by the German army
The weapon weighted 1,190lbs/540kgs, and was
fed by a twenty one round magazine.
1,600 Me 410's were built,its unknown how
many were armed with this cannon.
Two Me 410A-1 were modified to carry the
flak 43/37mm cannon, tested and evaluated by(E.kdo25)Erprobungskommando 25
Near the end of the war, the Red army captured some Me 410's and used them against
the Germans.

This is an Me 410B-2/U4, most likely of ZG76. It is armed with a 5cm BK5 in its weapons bay, along with two fixed 3cm MK103 in the nose and two MG131 in tail barbettes.

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT:
The Soviet forces captured a number of Luftwaffe aircraft before wars end, for testing and evaluation. One Messerschmitt Me410B-2/U4 of II./ZG26 Wk.N 130379 was evaluated and much was learned from the German design, did you know the remote control system for the 13mm MG131 machine guns, located in barbettes on each side of the fuselage were copied and later used in other Soviet aircraft designs, anything of interest was examined, copied and later used. What happened to this a/c after testing remains a mystery, most likely it was scrapped. The version in above file photo is armed with a 50mm BK-5 cannon with 22 rounds.
