PHOTOGRAPH COULD ALSO BE A STAGED PROPAGANDA
SHOT. CAPTION COULD BE:
COMRADES DEFEND YOUR MOTHERLAND! AND CRUSH THE FASCISTS INVADERS...
POSSIBLE PRE-WAR SHOT, THE COLLAR INSIGINA IS HARD TO IDENTIFY, BUT LOOKS LIKE PRE-1943
RANK. PRE-WAR SENIOR, JUNIOR OFFICERS AND NCOs WORE SLEEVE STRIPES AND COLLAR TABS, I DON'T SEE ANY SHOULDER BOARDS.
LOOKS LIKE IVAN HAS BEEN ISSUED THE M35 TUNIC
HIS TROUSERS WERE THE SAME COLOR AS HIS TUNIC AND WERE TUCKED INTO HIGH BOOTS.
THE SIDECAP IS THE M35 PATTERN, FIELD GLASSES
PRE-WAR LEATHER BELT WITH HOLSTER FOR HIS TOKAREV 7.62x25mm SEMI-AUTO PISTOL/LANLARD ATTACHED AND COULD BE CARRYING A BN-Tch GAS MASK POUCH.
SOLDIERS IN THE BACKGROUND HAVE BEEN ISSUED THE M40 STEEL HELMET, BEDROLL AND WHAT LOOKS LIKE THE M35 BACKPACKS. RIFLES COULD BE THE MOSIN-NAGANT MODEL 1891/30 BOLT-ACTION IN
7.62x54R FEED SYSTEM 5-ROUND BOX MAGAZINE.
FEDOR TOKAREV WAS A RUSSIAN FIREARMS DESIGNER
OF PISTOLS AND SEMI-AUTO RIFLES THAT WERE USED BY THE RUSSIAN MILITARY FROM THE 1930s TO THE 1950s
ON THE SUBJECT OF SOVIET/RUSSIAN PISTOLS I'M
SURE MOST OF US HAVE SEEN THE FAST ACTION MOVIE "RED HEAT" STARRING ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER WHO PLAYS RUSSIAN POLICEMAN, IVAN DANKO IN THE FILM, HE PULLS OUT THAT LARGE SEMI-AUTO PISTOL DESCRIBED AS A 9.2mm PODBYRIN THIS WEAPON DOESN'T EXIST. ITS A MOVIE PROP AND IS A MODIFIED DESERT EAGLE IN .357 MAGNUM.
FICTIONAL WEAPON IT MAY BE, BUT A 9.2x30mm IT WOULD BE A BUSTER...Da
ONCE AGAIN I THANK THE EDITOR/WW2BD FOR ALLOWING ME TO LEAVE MY ADDED COMMENTS.

THE BASIC SUMMER UNIFORM WAS THE PRE-1943, M1935, COLLAR SHIRT. TUNIC WAS WORN OUTSIDE THE TROUSERS. HAD TWO CHEST POCKETS AND A PART OPENED FRONT. UNIFORM COLOR WAS KHAKI WITH VARIATIONS OF COLOR DUE TO THE POOR RESOURCES OF THE USSR'S INDUSTRIAL BASE. NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH THE M35 STANDUP COLLAR UNIFORM.

To say the photo was taken before war is pure conspiracy theory. The person on the photo, Yeremenko, was a farmer in kolchoz "Avantagarde" near Zaporizhzhia until beginning the war.

Famous WW2 Quote
"You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word. It is victory. Victory at all costs. Victory in spite of all terrors. Victory, however long and hard the road may be, for without victory there is no survival."Winston Churchill

There are some people who believe this photo was taken before the war.
