In both the twin and triple mounts, all the guns in the mount had to be elevated to the same angle. Could not be aimed individually.

With respect to the Indianapolis seen in the background, this photo was taken 12 days before she departed on her speed-run to Tinian with components for The Bomb. 27 days after this photo was taken, Indianapolis was on the bottom of the Philippine Sea and her crewmembers were fighting for their lives in the shark infested waters.
