Panzer Mark IV Ausf C Produced from Sept.1939
to Aug.1939. Only 134 were built of the 300 ordered.
The Mark IV Ausf C remained in service through 1943. Armed w/1x75mm gun w/80 rounds
and 2x7.92mm machine guns w/2700 rounds.
Manufacturer Krupp-Grusonwerk A.G. powered by
a 12-Cylinder, Maybach Gasoline-engine of
250hp. crew 5
Note Commanders position in open hatch with
one ear phone on the left ear, and the other
atop the right ear, so the Commander can hear
whats going on.
During WWII Tank Commanders both Allied and German were killed or wounded operating with
the commanders hatch opened, they had to get an overall picture of the battlefield, file
this under occupational hazard.
I'm sure this wasn't standard SOP, but still there are risks.
