Interesting markings on this aircraft. “Red Dot” National Insignia on top & bottom of both wings (seen in image 8139), 13 red & white rudder stripes, and blue, yellow, red propeller tips was a configuration that was only valid 5-Jan to 15-May-1942. This aircraft entered service on 15-March-1942, so in this case, the scheme was only valid for 2 months. The heritage of the F4U Corsair can be clearly seen in this image as well.
