Actually, France and Britian declared war on Germany right after Germany invaded Poland. Who started it is an incredibly immature argument.

Der Sieg der Allerierten Streitkräfte war schon abzusehn. Und somit eine Lazarett-Stadt (mit Verwundeten, Kinder, Alten, Krübeln und Flüchtlingen) einen unglaublichen Feuersturm aus zu setzten, absolut Unnötig Aktion. Stahl, Steine, Asphalt und selbst teile der Elbe haben gebrannt. Man ist in der Innenstadt erstickt, weil das Feuer jeglichen Sauerstoff verbraucht hat.

Bombing of Dresden. All te ailles wanted do was to kill as many German civilians as possible before the war ended. It had nothing to do with helping to defeating the German army since the war was over by then anyway.
