ww2dbaseHarold Arvid Stromsoe was a Chief Torpedoman aboard submarine USS S-44 when the submarine was sunk by Japanese escort vessel Ishigaki off of the Kurile Islands in 1943. Only two men survived the sinking, and Stromsoe was not among them.
