ww2dbaseShigeyoshi Inoue (1889-1975) was a Japanese admiral of the navy during WW2. He was commander of the Fourth Fleet and later Vice Minister of the Navy.

ww2dbaseAfter the war, Inoue became an English and music teacher to Japanese children at his house in Yokosuka City. He passed away in 1975 and is interred at Tama Reien Cemetery in Fuchu, Tokyo, Japan.

Shigeyoshi Inoue Timeline

8 Dec 1941 Vice Admiral Shigeyoshi Inoue gave the order to the Japanese Navy Fourth Fleet at Truk, Caroline Islands to began executing the plans to capture Wake, Guam (Mariana Islands), Makin (Gilbert Islands), Tarawa (Gilbert Islands), and other islands and atolls in the Pacific Ocean.
19 Jun 1942 Vice Admiral Shigeyoshi Inoue inspected prospective sites for airfield construction on Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands.
