  • Billy MacDonald, flying a Chinese Air Force P-26 fighter, discovered Japanese carrier Kaga near Zhoushan Island, Zhejiang Province, China. Three Gamma bombers of Chinese 2nd Bombardment Group came in to attack, but all bombs landed in the carrier's wake, causing no damage.
