above photo: Ensign Kazo Sakamaki's midget submarine launched from mother sub. I-24, plagued by a defective gyro compass, wrecked on a reef. he was captured by u.s. servicemen from bellows field, oahu. the other enlisted crewmen drowned. Sakamaki became prisoner of war # 1. dec.7,1941
