I think the photo of the zero, was flown by Lieutenant Commander Shigeru Itaya,received battle damage and crashed dived his zero into the first target of opportunity he could find, during the Pearl Harbor Attack.

Itaya died in 1944, not over Pearl Harbor.

Lt. Commander Shigeru Itaya, leader of 1st attack wave over Pearl Harbor, was shotdown and killed by Japanese Army planes over the Kuriles in 1944. Anyone having more info post it here at ww2db.
