i have what i believe to be a carcano it says fat 41 on barrel and d8479 on barrel could someone please tell me more about it

You could have an l891 that was cut down to make carbine. The Italians converted a lot of the 1891 and they have a look all of their own.

I am trying to find out information about my Carcano but cannot seem to find anything accurate. Out of all of the pictures of carcanos that I've seen, none of them look exactly like my rifle. I believe it may be a mut. If you have any information or advise on where to look, it would be greatly appreciated.
