- National Chinese forces captured Nanjing, China during the Northern Expedition. Retreating Beiyang Chinese forces looted properties before Nationalist arrival. Incoming Nationalist forces also saw some of their soldiers looting foreign establishments, but the worst incidents were conducted by men of the 6th Army, which was made up by those in the Communist faction, which systematically looted foreign businesses and homes.
